The ground rules

Keep it real.
Keep it kind.

Nightmare Dates exists for honest stories and helpful conversation—not pile-ons, exposure or cruelty. Here is how we handle the content people share with us.

The short version

Share a story you have the right to share. Keep people identifiable only where they have clearly agreed. We review submissions, and we will remove or edit published stories when there is a genuine privacy, safety or accuracy concern.

Submitting a story

When you submit something, you confirm that it is your own experience or that you have permission to share it. You give Nightmare Dates permission to edit it for clarity, spelling, length and anonymity, and to publish it on the site and its social channels.

You keep ownership of your story. You can ask for a published story to be removed or anonymised later.

Names, privacy and anonymity

Please do not include anyone’s full name, address, phone number, workplace, private messages, social-media handle, photograph or other information that could identify them without their consent. Change names and small details where needed.

You are welcome to use a pseudonym when submitting. We will not publish your email address.

Removal and correction requests

If you appear in a story, submitted it, or have a serious concern about it, email nightmaredates00@gmail.com with the page link, the relevant details and what you need us to do.

  • We can remove a story, remove identifying details, correct an error or temporarily unpublish it while we review a concern.
  • We will prioritise requests involving privacy, safety, impersonation, harassment or a credible claim that content is inaccurate.
  • We may ask for enough information to locate the content and understand the request, but we will keep that review as limited as possible.

What we will not publish

  • Content that identifies, threatens, harasses, humiliates or encourages others to target a person.
  • Private sexual material, intimate images, doxxing, blackmail, scams or instructions to harm someone.
  • Hate speech or content attacking someone for a protected characteristic.
  • Knowingly false allegations, copied material you do not have permission to use, or commercial spam.
  • Content involving anyone under 18 in a dating or sexual context.

Moderation is not automatic

We review submissions before publication, but moderation is a human judgement, not a guarantee that every detail is true or complete. We may decline, edit, anonymise, move or remove content at any time to keep the site safe, fair and useful.

Links, comments and external material

We are not responsible for content on external websites. Do not post links, screenshots or copied material that invade someone’s privacy or breach copyright. If a third-party platform or rights holder raises a concern, we may remove the material while it is reviewed.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as the site develops. The current version will always be published here. This page explains our community approach; it is not a substitute for legal advice.
