The boring-but-important bit
Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. This page explains what Nightmare Dates currently collects, why we use it and how to contact us about it.
This policy reflects the current static version of the site. It will be updated before we add analytics, direct form delivery, a newsletter or other third-party services.
What we collect
We do not currently run a user-account system or a newsletter. If you choose to email us or submit a story, you may provide your name, email address and the content of your message or story.
How we use it
- To read and respond to messages you send us.
- To review, edit and publish stories only where you have submitted them for that purpose.
- To investigate moderation, privacy, correction or removal requests.
Theme preference and cookies
The site stores your light or dark mode preference in your own browser using local storage. It is not sent to us and is not used to identify you. We do not currently set advertising or analytics cookies.
Contact form
Contact and story forms send the details you enter to Nightmare Dates by email through the site hosting. We use those details to read, respond to, moderate and, where appropriate, publish submitted stories.
Story submissions and published content
We encourage pseudonyms and ask contributors not to include private personal information about other people. Please see our Content Policy for moderation, correction and removal requests.
Sharing your information
We do not sell personal information. We only share information where it is necessary to run the site, respond to you, comply with a legal obligation, or protect people from harm or fraud.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where appropriate. To make a request, email nightmaredates00@gmail.com and include enough detail for us to locate the relevant message or story.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site develops. The latest version will always be available here.
This is a plain-English site privacy notice, not legal advice.
